Winners will be announced at the UK National Transport Awards ceremony on 1st October 2026 at the Westminster Park Plaza in London.

Journalist, ITV Political Editor & Host

Robert Peston is ITV's Political Editor and host of their flagship politics and current affairs programme Peston, where he covers Westminster developments and interviews leading figures from the UK and abroad. He also co-hosts the podcast The Rest Is Money with Steph McGovern, exploring how economics shapes everyday life and revisiting major financial events of recent decades.

Before joining ITV, Robert was the BBC's Economics Editor and, earlier, its Business Editor. He broke major stories during the global financial crisis, including the collapse of Northern Rock, the emergency rescues of RBS and HBOS, and the turmoil of the credit crunch and austerity. Prior to broadcasting, he held senior roles at the Sunday Telegraph and the Financial Times, where he was Political Editor, Banking Editor, and founder of the investigations unit.

An award-winning journalist, Robert has received more than 30 accolades, including Royal Television Society Journalist of the Year and the Wincott Prize for financial journalism. He has also written acclaimed books such as How Do We Fix This Mess?, WTF?, and Bust?, examining politics, society, and economics in Britain and beyond. Beyond journalism, he founded the education charity Speakers for Schools and serves as Vice President of Hospice UK.
